Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ALC Ideas Ltd ("ALC Ideas", "we", "us") handles personal data when you visit alcideas.com, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us. We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

• Contact form: your name, email address, company (optional) and message.
• Newsletter: your email address.
• Email: whatever you include when you write to us directly.
• Analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless, aggregated service. No cookies are set, and records are not tied to your IP address or to any other identifier we control. Custom events record a small number of interactions — search, button clicks, reading-depth milestones, theme changes and tool exports — using short app-defined identifiers, counts and booleans. We never send free text, form contents or tool inputs to analytics.
• Server logs: our hosting provider records technical request data, including your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. These logs are kept only briefly. If a site search fails, the search text may appear in them.

Tools: our browser-based tools run on your device. Values you enter and files you import are processed in your browser and are not sent to us. Some tools save your settings in your browser's local storage, which you can clear at any time. The site also remembers your light or dark theme choice there.

• Answering your message — your consent, given with the contact form checkbox (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Sending the newsletter — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to us.
• Understanding how the site is used — our legitimate interest in improving our content and tools, using cookieless, aggregated measurement (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Running and securing the site — our legitimate interest in delivering the site reliably and preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Meeting legal obligations — where the law requires it (Art. 6(1)(c)).

We do not sell personal data. We use these service providers, who act as processors on our behalf:

• Vercel Inc. — website hosting and cookieless analytics.
• Formspree — contact form and newsletter sign-ups.
• Sanity — content management. Your browser connects to Sanity's content delivery network, which receives your IP address as part of that connection.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.

Some of these providers are based in, or use infrastructure in, countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where personal data leaves the EEA, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

• Enquiries: up to 2 years after our last exchange, unless the law requires longer.
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Analytics: aggregated only — nothing is kept that identifies you.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to its processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that has already happened. To exercise any of these rights, email info@alcideas.com.

If you think we have mishandled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live, where you work, or where the issue occurred. In Hungary this is the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH, naih.hu). The European Data Protection Board lists every EU authority.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including HTTPS encryption for all traffic to this site.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version.
